Abdi Shuria is an award-winning Kenyan filmmaker, cinematographer and executive producer. As founder of Yare Picture Studio he helms some of East Africa’s most talked-about screen stories, including the Showmax originals Black & Blue (2024), Faithless (2023) and Igiza (2022). A graduate of the Academy of Art University (San Francisco), Abdi’s dynamic visual style was honed on the
multi-award-winning satirical series The XYZ Show, which he directed through Seasons 12 & 13. He continues to champion bold African narratives while mentoring the next generation of East African screen talent.
